Torg Eternity - Living Land - Burden of Glory

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Torg Eternity – Living Land – Burden of Glory

Torg Eternity – Living Land – Burden of Glory by Shane Lacy Hensley, Darrell Hayhurst and Deanna Gilbert is a role playing game supplement published by Ulisses Spiele for use with Torg Eternity.

The supplement is available as a 21 page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. One page is the front cover and one the front matter.

Torg Eternity - Living Land - Burden of GloryIt starts by explaining that this is the adventure created for GenCon 2017. The Storm Knights are stationed at Lincoln University in the Living Land, one of the last hardpoints left in Missouri. It then gives details on the three major NPCs that the characters will interact with there. Rex Steele arrives and explains the Delphi Council has a mission to uproot a stela. Available weapons and equipment are detailed, along with how some Cosm cards will work on Scene One and the preparations for the mission.

Scene One: The Journey North has the characters encountering a trapped edeinos who gives them information that may alter their mission.

Scene Two: The Stela is if they decide to go on with the original mission.

Scene Three: The Vanishing Temple is if the characters follow up on the lead the edeinos gave them.

Scene Four: The Siege of Lincoln University is running an attack on the hardpoint.

Threats has various creatures used in the adventure.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and is long enough with enough different sections that these would have been useful. Navigation could be better. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are a number of colour illustrations, including maps. Presentation is decent.

This adventure can play out in different ways depending on what the characters decide to do, which means the end result can be different. Time is limited, so they are unlikely to be able to do everything, so they will need to try and pick what is the most important thing to do. This does show its roots as a convention adventure, because it can be played out different ways, but it is also a bit limiting as a campaign adventure as a result; GMs may wish to tinker with it so that everything might be done if the characters play it smart.
