The Yngmark Gazeteer by Ben Rogers is a role playing game supplement published by Ulisses Spiele through the Ulisses Spiele Scriptorium Community Content Programme for use with Fading Suns.
The supplement is available as a 21 page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. One page is the front cover, one the front matter, one the Contents and one is blank.
The Introduction explains that this expands the area on Hargard that surrounds the village of Yngmark, which is the setting for the adventure Nightmare in Yngmark in the Gamemaster Book, introducing a range of locations, NPCs and plot hooks, that can be used to expand the adventure and create more.
Regional Overview gives details on the region, followed by a hand drawn map of the area.
The Gazeteer is the majority of the book. Various different locations, the majority of them settlements, are covered in varying level of detail, with descriptions and stats of NPCs. The final section of this has five plot hooks, described in varying levels of detail also, some again with NPCs statted and described.
The Yngmark Gazeteer in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and is long enough with enough different sections that these would have been useful. The Contents covers the various sections. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be mostly free of errors. The only illustrations are a couple of maps. Presentation is okay.
This supplement does what it says; it expands the area around the introductory adventure, covering it in more detail and making it much more useful as a starting region, because more places and NPCs are described and there are more potential adventures should the characters remain there. The Yngmark Gazeteer is a useful little supplement for anyone using the starting adventure and it can be found by clicking here.
