Temple of the Nightbringers: Anniversary Edition by M.T. Black is a role playing game supplement published by Wizards of the Coast through the DMs Guild Community Content Programme. This is an adventure for 1st level characters and Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, and is a revised version of the original.
The supplement is available from DriveThruRPG as a 15-page PDF for $2.95 although it was got at a reduced price thanks to a special offer. One page is the front cover and one the front matter and Contents.
Chapter 1: Introduction explains that the adventure is set in part of the Forgotten Realms but could be transported to other settings. How to adjust the adventure follows. Background explains that goblins have been raiding caravans and have recently abducted the son of a wealthy family, who want him rescuing. Enter the adventurers.
Chapter 2: Melton and Beyond gives some details on the tiny village of Melton, with some details on government, the inn and several locals, one of whom can lead the characters to where they need to be.
Chapter 3: The Temple is the main part of the adventure, which involves exploring the temple the goblins are currently inhabiting and rescuing the missing son, and perhaps others, as well as defeating the goblins’ leader.
Appendix A: Magic Items has a single new item, a cursed mask.
Appendix B: Maps has a map of the temple in DM and player-friendly versions.
Temple of the Nightbringers: Anniversary Edition in Review
The PDF is well bookmarked with the only sections not bookmarked being, rather bizarrely, the chapters and appendices, which are only included in the Contents. Navigation is decent. The text maintains a two-column colour format and appeared to be free of errors. There are a number of colour illustrations, though apart from the map and the mask, they don’t appear to be custom. Presentation is decent.
The various scenes in the adventure have instructions for adjusting them, as required, for different party strengths, which is a useful feature. There are parts where, if the characters are overly aggressive, they could discover they have bitten off more than they can cope with; there are quite a lot of goblins. Temple of the Nightbringers: Anniversary Edition is a decent little starter adventure and it can be found by clicking here.
