Sunken Abbey by Paul Ligorski is a role playing game supplement published by Heart of Arcana for use with Mausritter and is a short adventure.
The supplement is available as a as a nine page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. One page is the front cover, one the front matter and one is a logo. There is also a png map of the adventure site.
The first page has three different adventure hooks for getting the characters to go to the lair, all of which are related to the abbey having unusual treasure.
The next two pages of content have two new monsters; cave salamander, with five different colours, each with different abilities, and diving beetles, with three different carapaces and three different antennae, which have different game effects.
The Lost Art of Inscriptomancy has some details on this new art.
Inventory has four new items, a new weapon and piece of armour and three conditions.
Story Overview is the final page of content and, in some ways, is a longer adventure hook, describing what can be found at the monastery.
Sunken Abbey in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and is short enough that they are not essential. Presentation is okay. The text primarily maintains a single column format and appeared to be free of errors. Black and white public domain images have been used for items and monsters; presentation is okay except that the inventory and conditions need printing out to use them properly, given Mausritter’s physical inventory system, and the pages have a colour background that cannot be disabled, making printing substantially harder.
This is a fairly freeform adventure. There are hooks, a general overview of the story and a map of the location, but it isn’t a fully fleshed out adventure; the GM will likely need to add some details, but there is enough to work with. Sunken Abbey isn’t a bad little encounter for Mausritter and it can be found by clicking here.
