So What’s The Zombie Like, Anyway? by Greg Marks is a role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as a 15-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1.99 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. Two pages are the front and rear covers, three the front matter, Contents and Foreword, one page is an ad and one is the Open Game License. The PDF comes in two versions, one designed for print and high-end devices, the other for mobile and low-end devices.
The Foreword explains that zombies are often treated as nothing more than identical monsters with nothing to distinguish them, and that this supplement intends to fix that.
Table A: What’s the Zombie Look Like has a d100 table of cosmetic differences for zombies.
Table B: What’s the Zombie carrying is a d100 table of things, often valuable, that the zombie might have.
Table C: Simple Zombie Templates has six templates to make zombies different, frozen, grinning, legless, screaming, zombie limb swarm and zombie pet, each with differences. There are also stats for a human zombie and a fast human zombie.
Table D: Hooks is a d100 list with 20 results of adventure hooks related to zombies.
Reading Stat Blocks is a standard page on reading these as used by the publisher.
So What’s The Zombie Like, Anyway? in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with major and minor sections linked. The Contents is less thorough and is hyperlinked. Navigation is good. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are a number of black and white stock illustrations. Presentation is decent.
Tables A, B and D are good just by themselves, and can be used with any system, making the supplement generally useful. Table C, with the new templates, is a useful extra for the Pathfinder game, as it adds new options to make zombies different in combat. So What’s The Zombie Like, Anyway? is a nice little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
