Slayers of the Strange by Alex Rinehart is a role playing game supplement published by Idlewild Games, LLC for use with Slayers RPG.
The supplement is available as a collection of six PDFs from itch for $5 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle.
Cavities Beneath is a four-page PDF. This is a Hunt in three acts in which the Slayers are asked to recover some merchandise stolen from an alchemist by heading into the caverns under The City.
Guardian of the Omphalos is a three-page PDF. This is a Hunt in three acts in which the Slayers are hired to infiltrate the Omphalos, duplicate some material and smuggle it out.
The Trouble with Termites is a three-page PDF. This is a Hunt in three acts and the Slayers are asked to intervene in a dispute between two groups of intelligent, and large, insects.
Guerrilla is a three-page PDF. This is a new class, a short-range fighter who throws boomerangs as a weapon. They roll a pool of dice for an attack, with each die representing a boomerang.
Knight is a three-page PDF. This is another new class, a defensive tank that protects allies and displaces foes.
Tactician Advances is a single page PDF. This has a Tactician: Expert Advance for both new classes.
Slayers of the Strange in Review
The PDFs lack bookmarks and each is small enough that these are not needed. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a single column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are a few stock illustrations used. Presentation is okay.
The Hunts are fairly short and have different types of problems. At least one could possibly be solved without resorting to violence. There are stats for a number of new monsters, which could be reused, something that is always useful. The two new classes add some extra options for players. Slayers of the Strange has some interesting new material and can be found on itch by clicking here.
