Reckoning in Waterstill

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Reckoning in Waterstill

Reckoning in Waterstill is a generic role playing game supplement written and published by Coronal. The supplement is covered by the Creative Commons Attribution Noncommericial Sharealike 4.0 International license. This is a system agnostic adventure.

Reckoning in WaterstillThe supplement is available as a five page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. One page is the front cover and front matter.

The supplement starts with a summary of the adventure, which sees the characters trapped with some hungry villagers in some haunted woods, a hook, which has them wake up nest to the river after being attacked, some background and a timeline from 1 year ago to 3 days in the future, followed by major NPCs.

Following this are details of locations in both the village of Waterstill and the surrounding forest, some scenes and a map of the surroundings.

The PDF lacks bookmarks but is short enough that these are not needed. Navigation is okay. The text is either one column or two column format and appeared to be mostly free of errors. Apart from the map and cover there is a single black and white illustration. Presentation is okay.

This is a generic adventure, so naturally it will need some work to convert it to a system; rules-light systems will probably be easier. There are various tips on converting the monsters, but this will still require work. The structure of the adventure is laid out well enough, and is a decent framework. Reckoning in Waterstill is a decent adventure framework that can be converted to actual systems and can be found by clicking here.
