Personalities of the Frontiers of Space by Joseph Mohr is a role playing game supplement published by Old School Role Playing for use with Cepheus Engine. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as a 29 page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers, three the front matter and three the Open Game License.
The opening paragraphs explain that the Frontiers of Space are filled with interesting characters who the characters might encounter, or whose exploits might be covered by the news services.
Personalities of the Frontiers of Space is the bulk of the supplement and lists the various NPCs. There are sixteen different individuals, and each has their name and stats, including weapons, background and various historical details; the precise details vary from individual to individual. The details on each NPC are substantial, often including their entire history and actions and any potential legacy they have left behind.
Conclusion explains that some of the NPCs are highly dangerous but characters may bump into them without realising.
Personalities of the Frontiers of Space in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and is long enough with enough different sections that these would have been useful. Navigation is poor. The text maintains a single column format and appeared to be free of errors. Apart from the covers, there are no illustrations. Presentation is adequate.
The supplement has a varied group of NPCs described in great detail. Many are potential foes and some are no longer still alive, though the effects of their actions lives on. It’s entirely possible to use many of these with other settings, and even other systems if the stats are changed, making this a more broadly useful supplement. Personalities of the Frontiers of Space is a decent NPC collection and it can be found by clicking here.
