Outer Planet Guide, Volume 2.0 by Dave Woodrum is a generic role playing game supplement published by Fishwife Games.
The supplement is available as an 8-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $2 but was purchased at a reduced price during a sale. One page is the front cover.
The opening paragraphs explain that the supplement contains six new worlds for filling in the gaps in a space campaign, worlds around less important stars at the borders of space. Each of the six planets is then covered.
Each world follows the same layout, with one page per planet. There is an illustration, along with the name, size, moons, day and year, biome, atmosphere, notable hazards, population, populace outlook, corruption, tech level, economy, major exports and major imports. Data then gives a description of the world and Adventure Hook has one of these. Each planet is on a page and each page also has a blank area for Campaign Conversion Notes; the size of this dependent on the space used for the planet.
Outer Planet Guide, Volume 2.0 in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and at this length they aren’t needed. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a single column format and appeared to be free of errors. Each planet has a colour illustration. Presentation is decent.
This supplement does what it says; covers six planets that are of a less important nature. Most of them are less than pleasant places as well, due to governance or planetary conditions. There are the planet’s stats, which can be of variable importance, as well as the description and adventure hook. The planets can be used to help flesh out the empty areas of a setting. Some conversion will be needed to use with systems, as this is a generic supplement, though that will depend on just what the planet is being used for. Oddly, gravity, a fairly important planetary stat, isn’t one of the included ones. Outer Planet Guide, Volume 2.0 is a decent little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
