Mini Quest: Return to the Doom Tower by David Dudka is a role playing game supplement published by Survive RPG for use with Dungeons & Dragons games although no particular version is specified. This is an adventure in the Mini Quest series aimed at characters of levels 4-6.
This is a four page PDF that is available from RPGNow as a Pay What You Want supplement.
It starts with the characters arriving at a city outside whose walls stands the titular Doom Tower, a mobile fortress that belonged to a demon conjurer who was defeated 40 years ago. Access to the tower is forbidden on pain of death, but people have been going missing, so the characters are hired to explore the tower.
First the characters will work their way through the tower, defeating the creatures currently inhabiting it who have been taking people. Then they will go back through time and help defeat the demon conjurer before returning to the present.
Mini Quest: Return to the Doom Tower in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and, at two pages, doesn’t really need them. The text maintains a two column format and no errors were noticed although, oddly, the primary foe is described as a demon conjurer and his forces speak Abyssal but the conjured creatures encountered are all devils. As well as the map of the tower’s interior, there are a number of custom black and white illustrations. Presentation is very good for a small supplement.
Having to clean out the same construction twice, once in the present and once in the past, is a bit of a twist. The impression given is that, if it wasn’t for the characters, the conjurer would have actually been successful. There is also the chance to end up in Hell by mistake, which could quickly become quite unfortunate. It’s easy enough to return by simply turning around, but if characters don’t do that quickly, they may have a problem
