Heroes of NeoExodus: Chanda Kesin (PFRPG)

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Heroes of NeoExodus: Chanda Kesin (PFRPG)

Heroes of NeoExodus: Chanda Kesin (PFRPG) is a role playing game published by LPJ Design for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a six-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1.39. One page is the front cover and one the Open Game License. The PDF comes in two versions, one with a parchment background and one without, making it more printer-friendly.

Heroes of NeoExodus: Chanda Kesin (PFRPG)This is a heroic NPC for the publisher’s NeoExodus setting. It starts with a few paragraphs describing the character’s origins as a barbarian, and it’s believed that her village was destroyed by dark forces, which then shaped her life. She now works as a mercenary, but only works for forces she believes protect the innocent.

The Truth explains that Chanda is pursuing a group of assassins and thieves from the NeoExodus setting, the Crimson Hand. Appearance and Personality give an overview of these.

Using Chanda Kesin has ways of using her as an ally, enemy or opponent; the last is said to not be a very good choice as she doesn’t pursue politics, being best suited for a battlefield rival.

Adventure Ideas has a number of adventure seeds using Chanda.

The rest of the supplement is taken up by Chanda’s stats, which are available for CR 4, CR 9, CR 13 and CR 19. Chanda is a Khymerion Barbarian (Legendary Killer) in all of these; the different CRs are for her as a character who has naturally progressed, rather than being something completely different, as is sometimes seen.

Heroes of NeoExodus: Chanda Kesin (PFRPG) in Review

The PDF lacks bookmarks and is short enough that these aren’t needed. Navigation is fine. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of error. There is a single illustration, of Chanda Kesin, which appears to be custom. Presentation is decent. The addition of a more printer friendly PDF is useful.

This isn’t a terribly complex NPC. She’s a barbarian who has been increased in level so that she can still be relevant as player characters become more powerful, but lacks anything in the way of unique or interesting items or abilities. This is exactly what it seems to be; an NPC who grows in power as characters do. Heroes of NeoExodus: Chanda Kesin (PFRPG) is an inexpensive NPC supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
