Harvest Festival - A Weird Funhouse Village Festival

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Harvest Festival – A Weird Funhouse Village Festival

Harvest Festival – A Weird Funhouse Village Festival is a role playing game supplement written and published by Sahh. This is a generic supplement.

The supplement is available as a 19 page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. One page is the front cover and one an ad.

Harvest Festival - A Weird Funhouse Village FestivalThe first page of content explains that the village of Vald has a festival to the pagan gods at the end of the harvest season. It explains that this isn’t an adventure where characters have to slay everything and it was intended to be a series of events that characters could encounter.

Instructions On how to use this module explains that the supplement details a variety of interesting and unusual sights for characters to encounter during the festival, and that each event could also be individually used, followed by a list of facts.

There are ten different events to encounter. These range from odd customs, to curious practices to a market with strange items and even stranger prices for them. None have game stats as such, though one does reference items from Death Frost Doom and Veins of the Earth, suggesting it is perhaps aimed at Lamentations of the Flame Princess games. Finally, there are two special events.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and has enough different sections that these would have been useful. Navigation is poor. The text follows a two-column format and a number of minor errors were noticed. There are a number of stock black and white illustrations. Presentation is okay.

This supplement is what it sets out to be; a series of odd and unusual events to have during a pagan festival. They could be used as is or, as stated, separated into different events that could enliven different places or be added to another festival. Harvest Festival – A Weird Funhouse Village Festival is an interesting collection of events and it can be found by clicking here.
