Cyber City Block 001

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Cyber City Block 001

Cyber City Block 001 by David Woodrum is a generic role playing game supplement published by Fishwife Games.

The supplement is available as a seven-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1.49 but was purchased at a reduced price during a sale. One page is the front cover and one the front matter.

Cyber City Block 001The opening paragraph explains that the supplement covers an unnamed city block suitable for cyberpunk games, with 20 locations covered. There is also a labelled colour map of the block that has the various locations.

The rest of the supplement is then taken up by descriptions of the 20 businesses and locations. Some are fairly standard businesses that are not purely cyberpunk in nature whilst others definitely are. There is a mix of different types of places, each of which is described in a paragraph or two. The descriptions can include NPCs as well as potential adventure hooks, as well as detailing what the place in question does.

There is also an unlabelled map of the city block, suitable for players, and an empty box that the GM can use for conversion notes.

Cyber City Block 001 in Review

The PDF lacks bookmarks and is short enough that these are not needed. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a single column format and appeared to be free of errors. As well as the colour maps, there are a couple of other colour illustrations. Presentation is okay.

The different locations are covered in a decent amount of detail, though there is a specific type of cyberpunk feel to it; Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0. would be a good fit given the feel, whilst other settings would be less suitable. By its nature, it should be easy enough to drop into many cities, both mapped and unmapped ones. There may not be game stats, but various locations don’t really need them, and others can be simple enough to adjust, especially with some common NPC stat blocks. Cyber City Block 001 is a decent little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
