A Glint In The Eye by Joseph Mohr is a role playing game supplement published by Old School Role Playing for use with Cepheus Engine. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as a 30 page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers, three the front matter and three the Open Game License.
The opening paragraphs explain that the need for resources has driven mining companies to the unexplored sectors next to the Sonora sector – the adventure is set in the Frontiers of Space – and the characters are hired by a newer mining company to explore a system for resources.
Patron has details on the employer.
Complications are things which are not known or which could go wrong.
The Probes looks at how the probes can be deployed to look for resources.
The Face in the Rocks describes an alien artefact.
The Aliens looks at those who built it many years ago.
Under the Head details the complex beneath it.
The Four Worlds covers the worlds in the system that potentially have resources.
The Android covers the only surviving android in the complex.
Mission Completion explains that the characters need to fire probes and inspect any worlds that may have resources.
The final five pages of content have maps of the four worlds and the complex.
A Glint In The Eye in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and is long enough with enough different sections that these would have been useful. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a single column format and some minor errors were noticed. Bar the maps and covers, there are no illustrations. Presentation is okay.
In a way, this is an odd adventure. The mission is to examine the four worlds for resources; the underground complex is irrelevant to that. The characters can ignore it if they don’t wish to explore it. However, it lacks any real dangers and does have some valuable things to loot. A Glint In The Eye can be found by clicking here.
