20 Things #59: Shadowed Borderland (System Neutral Edition) by Jeff Gomez is a generic role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press. The supplement is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as an 11-page PDF for $3.75 from DriveThruRPG but was purchased at a reduced price thanks to a special offer. The PDF comes in three versions, two PDFs, one designed for print and high-end devices, the other for mobile and low-end devices, and a plaintext file. Two pages of the PDF are the front and rear covers, two pages are ads, one page is the front matter and Contents and one the Open Game License.
1: Borderland Dressing is a d20 list of encounters for the borderlands.
2: Borderland Landmarks is another d20 table. This one has a name for the landmark, which may just be a descriptive one, then a short description of it.
3: Borderland Rumours is a d12 table of rumours for the borderlands.
4: Strange Borderland Events is another d20 list, this one of odd events and encounters.
5: Strange Borderland Folk is a d12 list of NPCs to encounter. Each is given a name, alignment, sex, species, class and level, as well as a brief description; one is tied to a landmark.
20 Things #59: Shadowed Borderland (System Neutral Edition) in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with major and minor sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is decent. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are a number of black and white illustrations. Presentation is decent.
Like many other supplements in the range, this does not exclusively consist of d20 tables. Also like others in the series, it’s a collection of comparatively small things that can be used to enliven something specific, in this case a borderland region, one that is neither entirely safe nor entirely dangerous. 20 Things #59: Shadowed Borderland (System Neutral Edition) is a decent supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
