100 Low Passengers for the Frontiers of Space

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement 100 Low Passengers for the Frontiers of Space

100 Low Passengers for the Frontiers of Space by Joseph Mohr is a role playing game supplement published by Old School Role Playing for use with Cepheus Engine. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a 23 page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers, three the front matter and three the Open Game License.

100 Low Passengers for the Frontiers of SpaceThe opening paragraphs talk about how suspended animation is a low-cost form of travel in the Frontiers of Space, albeit a potentially dangerous one, and that this supplement has 100 passengers with different motivations for travelling.

GM Notes explain how the supplement came to be, as a spin-off, along with one on Passengers, from 1001 Cargoes.

The Passengers takes up the majority of the supplement. This has the stated 100 passengers and starts by saying that none are armed unless stated to be and have minimal luggage. Each passenger is named, given their stats and their description, which includes their motivations, not all of which are honest.

100 Low Passengers for the Frontiers of Space in Review

The PDF lacks bookmarks and, given the limited number of sections, doesn’t really need them. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a single column format and appeared to be free of errors. Bar the covers, there are no illustrations. Presentation is adequate.

This is exactly what it says it is; a collection of NPC passengers that characters could encounter. Some are exactly what they seem whilst others are potential problems. They could be used for passengers on the characters’ own ship or on other ships they encounter. Being a list of NPCs this is mostly suited to other settings, though tweaks will need to be made for some of them. 100 Low Passengers for the Frontiers of Space is a useful little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
