100% Crunch: Orcs

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement 100% Crunch: Orcs

100% Crunch: Orcs by Creighton Broadhurst is a role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some of it is considered to be Open Game Content.

The supplement is available as a 23-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $3.99 although it was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle, with two pages being the front and rear covers, one an ad, two and a half the front matter and Contents and one the Open Game License. The PDF comes in two versions, one intended for print and high-end devices, one intended for low-end and mobile.

100% Crunch: OrcsThe Foreword explains that this has orcs of different types to encounter and, as the second supplement in the series focusing on humanoids, is a bit different, being shorter and focused on creating stat blocks for the range of CRs listed in the appropriate entry in the Bestiary.

Stat Blocks by CR lists the orcs by CR with the page numbers given.

Reading Stat Blocks is a standard page for the publisher explaining how to use these.

Orcs gives an overview on them, their environment, organisation and treasure.

The rest of the supplement is taken up by orcs. These range in CR from 1/4 to 7, with normal orcs, orcs with NPC classes and orcs with regular classes, covering a range of classes, with an emphasis on martial characters, though there are spellcasters and other classes too. A sidebar covers orc characters.

The PDF is bookmarked with the various major sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is good. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are some black and white stock illustrations. Presentation is decent.

Like others in this series, this isn’t a collection of NPCs but a collection of stat blocks. As is, these are most suited for enemy combatants, but the stat blocks could also be used with NPCs, either existing descriptions or by creating some character fluff to use as well, so that the stat blocks can be used for NPCs with more depth. 100% Crunch: Orcs can be found by clicking here.
