#1 With a Bullet Point: 4 Feats for Spells that Raise the Dead

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement #1 With a Bullet Point: 4 Feats for Spells that Raise the Dead

#1 With a Bullet Point: 4 Feats for Spells that Raise the Dead by Owen K.C. Stephens is a role playing game supplement published by Rogue Genius Games (originally Super Genius Games) for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a three-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a bundle. One page is the Open Game License and credits.

#1 With a Bullet Point: 4 Feats for Spells that Raise the DeadThe first page has some standard text for the #1 With a Bullet Point range explaining the philosophy and what the supplements contain.

The High Concept explains that the supplement aims to give casters who use spells capable of bringing the dead back to life more options.

Ferryman allows a different suitable spell to be converted into a spell for raising the dead.

Lore from Beyond the Pale allows the caster to ask a question of the person they raise, which they know the answer to on coming back from the dead.

Rebirth allows an individual being raised to be granted new life. Which includes shuffling ability scores, altering their age and changing their name. This seems overpowered for a feat.

Selfless Resurrection allows the caster to channel some of their own life energy into the raising, optionally taking on negative levels and even raising those who died from old age, though not for long.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and at this length doesn’t need them. Navigation is fine. The text maintains the old three-column landscape format used by Super Genius Games and appeared to be free of errors. There are a couple of pieces of black and white stock art. Presentation is okay.

There are some problems with these. First is they affect spells that probably should be rarely used; not necessarily because characters don’t die but because it shouldn’t be that easy to bring them back. And Ferryman makes that even easier. Rebirth, especially, has got some problems. #1 With a Bullet Point: 4 Feats for Spells that Raise the Dead has some interesting, but potentially unbalancing, ideas and it can be found by clicking here.
